Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Not at all – but rather you deny the establishment of Justice. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 who know whatever you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
