Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 noble scribes 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what do you know of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
