The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 A written record. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 Surely they who are guilty used to laugh at those who believe. 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
