The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
