The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 On a grievous day, 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
