The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, then, to those that give the lie, 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Those in sin used to laugh at those who believed, 29 And winked at one another as they passed by them; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
