The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Woe to the stinters; 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 To be raised for a Great Day? 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 It is a distinctly written record. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, "Stories of earlier men!" 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 and, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done. 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 "Are these deniers of the truth being [thus] requited for [aught but] what they were wont to do?" 36
