The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 for a great Day, 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A book inscribed, 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Most surely the righteous shall be in bliss, 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that – 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
