The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 Will pray for death, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
