The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
