The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
