The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
