The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
