۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
