The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
