The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 and by the promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 They sat by it 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
