The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 When they sat by it 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
