The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
