Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
