The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
