The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
