The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
