The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky and the night comer - 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
