Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.
