Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And chosen goblets. 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
