Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In a high Garden. 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 And cups put in place 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
