Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
