Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
