Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
