Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But save him who fears 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
