Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Thus, as for him who gives [to others] and is conscious of God, 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
