The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night as it envelops; 1 and the day in splendour 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 and believes in the finest, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
