The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
