The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the morning brightness 1 and by the calm of night, 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee)? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 and do not reject the beggars 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11
