In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
