The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Knows he not that Allah does see (what he does)? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
