In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
