Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

The desire to have more of the worldly gains have pre-occupied you so much (that you have neglected remembring God), 1 until you reach your graves. 2 But no, indeed, you shall soon know. 3 Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! 4 No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the eye of certainty 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
