The Afternoon (Al-'Asr)

3 verses, revealed in Mecca after Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh) before The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

By (the Token of) Time (through the ages), 1 that man is surely in a state of loss, 2 except those who believe and do good works and charge one another with the truth and charge one another with patience. 3

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
