The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 Who amasses wealth and hordes it. 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 Which rises above the hearts. 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In extended columns. 9
