Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish. 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
