Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 He will suffer in a blazing fire 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
