Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 he shall roast at a Flaming Fire, 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
