Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Destroyed were the hands of Abu Lahab, and he lay utterly doomed. 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He shall soon enter a Blazing Fire, 3 and his wife, laden with firewood 4 Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber. 5
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
