BEHOLD, We have bestowed upon thee from on high this divine writ, setting forth the truth, so that thou may judge between people in accordance with what God has taught thee. Hence, do not contend with those who are false to their trust, 105 Seek forgiveness from God. He is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 106 And do not argue on behalf of those who betray themselves, surely, Allah does not love the sinful traitor. 107 They feel ashamed before men but do not feel ashamed before God, despite His being present with them when they plot at night, uttering things of which He does not approve; and indeed God is fully aware of what they do. 108 Pay heed! It is you people who argued on their behalf in the life of this world; so who will fight on their behalf with Allah on the Day of Resurrection, or who will be their pleader? 109 If any one does evil or wrongs his own soul but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. 110 for he who commits a sin, commits it only to his own hurt; and God is indeed all-knowing, wise. 111 But whoever earns an offense or a sin and then blames it on an innocent [person] has taken upon himself a slander and manifest sin. 112
