And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 and before him We created the jinn from smokeless fire. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 And when I have fashioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, bow before him in homage;" 29 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 unto the day of a known time.' 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
