So when the envoys came to the household of Lot, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
