It is He Who sent down water from the sky – you drink from it, and from it are trees you use as pasture. 10 He groweth for you thereby the corn and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Verily therein is a sign for a people who ponder. 11 He harnessed the day and night for you, as also the sun, the moon and the stars, by His command. In this are signs for men who understand. 12 And whatsoever He has created for you on this earth of varying colours [and qualities from vegetation and fruits, etc. (botanical life) and from animal (zoological life)]. Verily! In this is a sign for people who remember. 13 And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 He set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should shake with you; and rivers, and roads, in order that you are guided. 15 And waymarks; and by the star they are guided. 16 Is then the One Who creates like the one who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 And if ye would count the favours of Allah ye could not compute them; verily Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 18 God knows all that you conceal or reveal. 19 And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created; 20 They are dead, not living; and they do not know when they will be raised (to life). 21
