When We substitute one revelation for another,- and Allah knows best what He reveals (in stages),- they say, "Thou art but a forger": but most of them understand not. 101 Say: The holy Spirit hath delivered it from thy Lord with truth, that it may confirm (the faith of) those who believe, and as guidance and good tidings for those who have surrendered (to Allah). 102 And indeed, full well do We know that they say: "It is but a human being that imparts [all] this to him! - [notwithstanding that] the tongue of him to whom they so maliciously point is wholly outlandish, whereas this is Arabic speech, clear [in itself] and clearly showing the truth [of its source]. 103 Indeed, those who do not believe in the verses of Allah - Allah will not guide them, and for them is a painful punishment. 104 Only they invent falsehood who believe not Allah's revelations, and (only) they are the liars. 105 As for anyone who denies God after having once attained to faith - and this, to be sure, does not apply to one who does it under duress, the while his heart remains true to his faith, but [only, to] him who willingly opens up his heart to a denial of the truth: upon all such [falls] God's condemnation, and tremendous suffering awaits them: 106 This is because they love this world's life more than the hereafter, and because Allah does not guide the unbelieving people. 107 These are the ones upon whose hearts and hearing and sight God has set a seal. It is they who are heedless, 108 Truly it is they, they who in the life to come shall be the losers! 109 ۞ Then lo! thy Lord - for those who became fugitives after they had been persecuted, and then fought and were steadfast - lo! thy Lord afterward is (for them) indeed Forgiving, Merciful. 110
