T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 it is only a reminder for him who fears Allah; 3 a revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The ever-merciful, established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. 6 If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa? 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 Lo! I, even I, am thy Lord, So take off thy shoes, for lo! thou art in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you. So listen to what is being revealed. 13 Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: 14 The Hour is coming. I almost conceal it, so that every soul will be recompensed for its labors. 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 Moses threw it on the ground and suddenly he saw that it was a moving serpent. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 Now, put your hand under your armpit. It shall come out white, without evil, a second sign. 22 We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
