Did not the disbelievers observe that the heavens and the earth were together, so We parted them, and we made every living thing from water? So will they not accept faith? 30 And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with them, and We have made therein broad highways (between mountains) for them to pass through: that they may receive Guidance. 31 and We made the sky a secure canopy; and yet they turn away from these Signs. 32 It is He who created night and day, the sun and the moon, revolving on its orbit. 33 And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal? 34 Every human being is bound to taste death; and We test you [all] through the bad and the good [things of life] by way of trial: and unto Us you all must return. 35 And when those who disbelieve behold thee they only take thee up for mockery: is this he who mentioneth your gods? while in the mention of the compassionate they are themselves blasphemers. 36 Man was created of haste. Assuredly I shall show you My signs; so demand not that I make haste. 37 And they say: when cometh this torment if ye are truth-tellers! 38 Had those who disbelieve but known (of the time) when they shall not be able to ward off the fire from their faces nor from their backs, nor shall they be helped. 39 In fact it will suddenly come upon them, therefore shocking them, and they will not be able to repel it nor will they be given respite. 40 And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by what they used to ridicule. 41
